brother super galaxie 2000 ewing/embroidery?

my machine starts when I turn it on and will not stop until I turn power off with or without pedal, what do you think may be causing this as regards to costs and age of this otherwise brilliant machine thank you

does this only happen if foot control is connected? could be noise surpressor inside foot control or fault on main control board
