Remote and main unit need to be matched up.
Trying to remember sequence..but try this:

Press and hold down...
'3' and 'Enter' for several seconds.

Access 'Functions' - 'Other'

Select Remote 1 from list.
Press and hold down..
'1' and Enter for several seconds.
