Why do i have to turn it of?

I have BT Wireless but in order for me to get on the net I have to turn of the personal firewall in Norton.
Is there away around this and what is the best way to protect my wireless connection.
Running XP on the PC
Many thanks

Configure Norton to allow your PC's IP address through the firewall. This can be by adding ports or placing your PC in the DMZ.

Protecting your wireless connection should be either by way of an access key or mac address. If you need more information, check your routers user guide or try google :)
