Boiler makes a humming noise when switched on, works for a while then goes off completely. After a few days comes on again with the loud humming to start with. status flashing dashes occassionaly, the nothing. Been on and off for a month now. Any ideas? Thanks Lorraine. HE15 icos condensing.

How old is it? Basically you want to check that the pump and the fan are running; the fan is the most common failure due to age. You might get someone to see if the fan is running properly. They often fail after about 7 years.
