How can I fix my Whirlpool ADG 7560?

Hi, I have an 18 month old Whirlpool ADG7560 dishwasher. It stopped working part way through a cycle and had a lot of water in the bottom. The reset light flashes 8 times. So far no combination of pushing buttons and switching off/on has changed the flashing or let me restart. There has been no sound from a pump trying to run.
I have not pulled out the machine to check for a kinked hose but I pulled off the end of the hose at the drain end and it is clean- unblocked.
Could I find anything out by isolating the machine and pulling out the pump? Or is there any other test that I can do?
Many thanks, RE
