Hi there
Just a update as nobody responded to me yet I thought I'd take matters into my own hands and see if I could solve this problem myself although I'm really worried to as I don't like to play around with gas even though I'm nowhere near the gas on this.
I hope somebody can help me here before I break something or do something stupid like call out a hugely expensive engineer that's only going to turn a few screw and poke a bit of plastic.
So I opened up the from of the boiler where the control knobs are where the PCB is place and found that the was a three pin cable loose where the timer was and replaced it so now the timer works.
The comfort/economy setting has an equally simple problem in that the plastic knob that fits on the front onto the PCB has come loose from the PCB so turning it is pointless because its not connected.
My problem is now that I can't get access to the front part of the PCB where the control knob work on the PCB as the I can't/don't know how to take off the plastic housing of the PCB and I need some help how to take it off. I really don't want to poke a pair of plyers anywhere near the PCB just in case I damage the PCB.
I'm also seeing that the temperature lights on the front panel keep coming on and off of their own volition. Whenever the temperature lights are off (not working) the HW system come on and heats the water until the lights come back on again. If the lights stay on (work) since the knob is stuck in comfort, it heats the HW until the correct temperature is reached for comfort setting. The lights seem to be intermittent and when they come back on again the system shuts down like normal until either the water temperature gets low or the lights go out again. I'm not too sure if this 100% correct as what i am saying would seem to say that the malfunctioning light would heat the water until, well it wouldn't stop but that doesn't appear to be happening. Just the temperature light are out the HW system is on and then the lights come back on again :-/
Somebody please help as i don't really know how to fix this although I would feel 100% more comfortable if I could have some guidance on this from somebody here. My boiler keeps coming on & off on it's own and it's really making me mad not only to think of my gas bill !!!
Thanks in advance for any help you can give on this matter.
