How doI fix the power cable for my laptop?

The power cable for my laptop has a fractured wire immediately after the AC adapter box. This is causing an intermittent power supply. How can I repair the wire?

Is the cable after the AC adapter straightforward brown, blue and earth or is it multiple wires?

If you can solder and insulate using heat shrink tubing then go for it or get repaired professionally or buy a new power supply
