how to add a synergy 2150 handset to a Panasonic KX-TG8120E base unit?

I have a Panasonic KX-TG8120E and I want to add an extra handset which is a Synergy 2150.
It should be easy?! How can I make the phone recognise the base unit or the base unit recognise the phone? I have both user manuals but can't work it out. Help!
