How to resolve red-light warning 'water tap closed'?

My Whirlpool AWO/D4505 displays a red-light indicating that the water tap is closed. Does this mean the water inlet tap of the mains supply, or does it mean an 'electronic/mechanical' tap, within the machine, maybe a tap that works automatically by water-pressure? Any advice would be welcome please before I embark on a fix. Thank you for considering my query

undo the water hose from the machine and make sure you have good water pressure and no kinked hoses.if that is OK you need to test the water inlet valve inside the machine with a multimeter
