'smoky' or irritating 'smell' when fire is on, particularly on low?

My brand new flavel regent radiant convector gas fire model
FRGCPOEN. gives off a kind of 'burnt' irratating smell when lit especially on low. Flues are clear, installation is correct and checked. Manufacturers describe the smell as 'newness' and say it will burn off in a few hours. Retailers engineers said they have experienced similar problems and it can take months to clear. Any ideas?

hi the smell from ur fire is the curing process all ceramic lined fires go through it will eventually disappear but can take some time, I would suggest checking the flue pull with a smoke match just to make sure u don't have any fume spillage, but the smell is a normal thing
