How can I fix my Zanussi ZWG1121P ?
My washing machine won't drain so at the end of the wash the drum is full of dirty water and the door won't open unless I pull the machine out and unplug it.
An engineer I telephoned said it was probably a draining problem but he didn't cover my area or work with Zanussi machines. In my washing machine, there is no filter at the bottom right hand corner (or in any other corner either).
I have read elsewhere on the internet two different answers to this:
1) This model has no filter, but a larger bore pipe for the fluff (so any coins or hankies would presumably clog the motor and drain)
2) That the filter is inside the drum at the bottom, and you need to lift up the big blue drum paddle to access it. I think this applies to another similar model, but not this one, as my machine doesn't have a little tab for me to lift up the blue drum paddle or an arrow on the door seal to show where the paddle needs to be when opened. I've tried to lift up the blue paddle and it doesn't seem to work.
If 1) is true, which it seems to be, is there a way to fix it myself, without calling an engineer? It was in the flat when I moved in, but it's not part of the landlord's furnishings, so I can't ask him to fix it and I imagine it is not under guarantee any longer, I don't know as I don't have any receipts.
