Glow worm 30cxi F1 error - No hot water or heating?

We have had a new kitchen fitted not long ago and we had new wiring.
The programmer for the boiler was broken and I asked when they replaced this to have a programmable thermostat in the hallway instead.
Shortly after this we had a problem with the boiler where a diode blew and after this there was a problem with the PCB which was replaced by the electrician that did the work on the kitchen.
We have recently had a water leak from the boiler and a friend of my brother came to look at, a registered boiler technician, he patched the leak and said that the F1 error is due to the PCB. I have looked at the PCB and it seems ok and the manual says F1 refers to ignition failure but the manual also says that the mains supply should not be interrupted with a time switch or programmer.
I am unsure if we should be using the Danfoss TP7000M programmable thermostat and if this is part of the problem.
Being without hot water and heating at this time of the year especially with my parents coming over from Cyprus this year means I would like to have this sorted quickly if possible.
I would be most grateful for your reply to my email with my options.
