whirlpool dishawasher stopped working except for CANCEL?

somwthing happened to it, cannot start it to work in any mode,
except in CANCEL, then it starts (doing something) for 2 minutes and it stops. All electrical and plumbing appear to be ok.

It could be an electrical circuit board failure - assuming the unit makes some of the same noises/sounds it did when it was working?
