the pump on my miele W980WPS washing machine seems to have an intermittant fault the motor is running but the impalers sometimes does not spin round and the water in the machine does'nt drain out does this need a new pump and how easy is it to fit one myself..

ok if you want to replace the pump motor you have to get access from the front. There are 2 types of front panel different methods to remove, early type has 3 hex bolts in door way visible when you open the door, later type has 1 torx head bolt in door way at 6 o'clock position, which one do you have? Also genuine pump from Miele is about £100 but there are pattern spares available much cheaper if you wish. Cheers

hi kenjo

yes my machine does have a drip tray

If you are certain the impellor is loose on the shaft it will need a new pump. You can get just the motor and it is a bayonet fit just twists on, if your machine does not have a drip tray you can reach it from underneath no probs, if it does have a drip tray come back for instructions. Cheers
