What make & model of machine is it?
As a general rule, if its a machine with a program card installed into its main mpu, closing and locking all the doors - lower cash and upper machine doors - should make it boot up into its proper running configuration.
If that doesn't work, check to see that none of the door switches have been either removed or disabled, and ensure all the wires are linked up to each one.
Often when machines are left to run in demo mode, its because some part has been either disabled or
removed altogether. Ensure there is a program card in-situ on the mpu board (MPU 3,4,5, or 6). Its like a video cassette sized cartridge with two lugs on either side of it.
Thats as much as I can advise without knowing which machine it is at present.
