Frank's Olympus leak?

I have water sealing from the mixer
part of the kitchen taps. So let me
explain in detail- without any of the
valves being open, water seals from
where the spout is housed. I have
removed the spout to look at the 'o'
ring which is ok and then there are
2 plastic rings above
the outlet of the spout, one which is
whole/black and the other which is
split (not broke) and white.
Why is the water seaping?

Hi, if water is dripping from your spout while your tap is 'off' that usually indicates that you need to replace your valve (hot or cold ) or both. As it is a twin lever tap then the hot and cold valves are different. You should know by the feel of the water whether it is your hot or cold side that is dripping. If in doubt, then run the tap, then turn off and wait and see the temp of the water (allowing for any water that would have been naturally left in the spout to drip out first).
Hope that is of help. We have more troubleshooting guides / tips on www.tapsandsinksonline.co.uk
