BOSCH SGS46E02GB/75 drain pump not functioning?

Hi have tried classic laying the machine on both right and left sides. Have checked the impellor is free to turn and can feel magnetic resistance. Started to check components under LH panel. Not sure if float had stuck but added water to chamber and float now rises. However the plastic water labyrinth simply called "water inlet" by Bosch has a good deal of crud in the top LH corner, can this be the problem. Its not proving easy to clean, any suggestions please.

The red float in the left side chamber only rises when the machine overfills, in normal operation it does not move. The crud in the top left corner of the side chamber is present in most bosch machines, it doesnt usually cause a problem. If you are sure the drain pump impeller is free to turn then either you have no voltage to the pump or the bearing in the pump is worn and the rotor pulls to one side and jams. Quick test if you have no voltmeter.... raise the red plastic rod (near the float) so it operates the micro switch and wedge it there, now switch on the machine and the pump should run all the time, if it does not run flick the impeller with a screwdriver, if it takes off ok pump bearing is worn, replace pump. If it does not take off you have either no circuit through the pump or no voltage to it. Need multi-meter to proceed. Cheers
