Even though the suction on the vacum seems to be working when I run it on the carpet it doest pick up lint and crumbs. It seems to be making contact sometimes but not others.

Hoover products sold by major outlets such as Traget, Wal-Mart, and others...simply are cr*p and not full Hoover specifications. Swithes, brush rollers, and other parts will wear out quickly.

Not because they are made in China as China can make high-end things to U.S. company specs or garbage to specs depending on what is needed. Note the new Boeing JUmbo Liner 777/787 is mae in six sections in China and shipped to Everett, WA. Or, they can make cheap dolls for Mattel with bad chemicals and then the company points the finger at China. Ask Snap-On Tools how it is that their plants in the United States are closed but they their tools are still stamped "Made in USA?"

U.S. companies have gone on the cheap to increase profits. That is now the American way.

Patty, what's the condition of the brush roll on your Hoover Windtunnel vacuum cleaner? Is the brush roll turning when the machine is powered on?

If not, then check the belt and make sure it's not stretched out. A belt that's too loose will slip instead of turning the brush. Also check the brush rolls themselves and make sure they can be turned by hand. These machines often have wear on the brush roll ends which makes them hard to turn
