what can i do to stop the pilot light being yellow on my boiler?

the pilot light/flame is very yellow, what can i do myself rather than call in a gas engineer, and is this yellow flame dangerous

It is yellow because it is not mixing with enough oxygen(burners have holes at the bottom to draw air in to mix with the gas).I would first try to give it a thorough hoover out starting from the bottom up,because it draws air in it also draws dust, hairs, fluff, this all reduces the oxygen.Good luck.
