DOES IT MATTER WHICH WAY ROUND THE BEARING SEAL GOES?

I'M REPLACING THE BEARINGS ON MY ZANUSSI FJ1093 AND HAVE THE KIT. UNFORTUNATELY THE OLD SEAL HAD DISINTEGRATED AND AS THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE KIT, I WANT TO KNOW WHICH WAY ROUND THE BEARING SEAL GOES
