dmtech lu20xt short circuit?

Hi, a friend gave me this tv with a power cable to attach to 12v supply but no instructions. Sod's law, I got the wires the wrong way round and something inside it went pop and sent out a little plume of smoke. I opened it up and the problem appears to be a small ceramic square thing-a-ma-jig, which has literally blown apart. Is there any way to fix this?

Since i do not have the model of your tv i can say that when you reversed cable you blew more than just that 1 square thing-a-ma-jig.I don't know for sure since i have a location of that piece but there is a ceramic resistor on both sides of driver mosfets. It doesn't matter if it is or not cause your mosfets and diodes all need to be replaced. Consider this as gettiing a power surge from lightning.Same, Same.Only fix is replace power board.
