hi my sewing machine is empisal celebrity 550, the hand wheel on it has stopped working how do I fix it

not sure what you mean by handwheel not working,if wheel is stuck could mean there is either a problem with hook drive or machine need oil,if handwheel is loose but does not turn machine it could mean lock wheel not operative or link between upper and lower shaft broken or stuck.please give more info if possible
