I got a piece of paper stuck in my car cd player...how do I get it out?

Loved McGiver's answer. Just removed a business card from my 2005 S-Type Jaguar that got accidentally pulled into the dash single CD player. It worked great....also love the name.

A parking lot ticket the size of a business card got sucked up into my CD player the day I bought my new Lexus. I took it Lexus - they told me it was terminal, and that I would need to pull the player and install a new one for $1,500. Not eager to spend $1,500, I decided to try the following solution... what did I have to lose?

I applied (4) small pieces of two sided tape, spaced on opposite sides of the play side of a functional disc. That would be the down side and the tape located at the mid 12:00 - 3:00 - 6:00 and 9:00 positions. Then I fed the CD into the player, hit eject....and voila, out came the disc with the ticket firmly attached. The player works perfectly, it took 5 minutes, and I saved $1,500!!

I had a similar problem and looked for an answer -- found your question. I just got my 'laundry receipt' out of my player. Here is how I did it. I had to pull the CD player out from the dashboard. Once I got the player out, my model let me pull the full face-plate off and I was able to see the pink receipt inside. To get the player out of the car, I went to the following website (pro-fit-intl.com). That company sells dashboard brackets for cellphone holders, ipod holders, etc. The key though is that they tell you how to remove the decorative bezels around the radio so you can get to the screws that hold the radio in place. They provide unique instructions for most every year and make of car. I found mine and printed off the one page. This of course assumes that they recommend that their bracket attaches to one of the radio bolts of your car. I have put in six different cellphone brackets over the years and all hooked to one of the radio bolts.

Anyway, the instructions will tell you how to remove the decorative bezel to expose the bolts. Simply remove each bolt and slide the radio/cd player out. I was able to unplug the cables from the back of the radio which gave me more room to work with the radio on my lap. I started to try to unscrew some of the screws around the radio, but nothing opened up. I was able to gently pry off the radio faceplate (there were electronics embedded, so be careful). The faceplate included a rubber 'door' where the CD inserts into the player, so I could not work with that blocking the slot. With a flashlight, I could see the paper and used a thin metal hook (perhaps a small length of wire hanger or stipped 14 guage electrical wire will work). Using the wire, I was able to "work" the paper out.

I put everything back and it works great. I hope this helps.
