cabasse auditorium?

I have just purchased a Laguna 52 plate estate with a cabasse auditorium (factory fitted) When I test drove the car the radio was working (sales ploy to hide engine noise) Before I was able to drive the car home from the garage I had to get them to jump start the battery which was on my car (BAD START) The battery has not been disconected and is now fully charged. I have had the radio working and the cds , single feed from inside car and the cd changer in the boot all working fine. The unit will not work when the key card is inserted and engine running. It works sometimes when the card is removed and I press the on button;.But now I am unable to get any display up on the screen The fuse is fine. I have the security code. ANY IDEAS.

DonT- reply Hi, thought I would let you know I have resolved the problem myself. My wife suggested I re entered the radio security code I did not think this was reqd because the unit did sometimes come on.However, because nothing else had worked decided to give it a try. What I needed was the display for the radio to light up. The car had been parked up overnight,I got in the car,and pressed the on button for the radio,The display lit up.!!! Note ! I had not inserted the key card. I followed the manual to re enter the security code.I entered it twice without it being recognised, once using the satellite, and once using the buttons on the radio.I tried a third time ,again using the satellite, and this time it accepted the code.Whilst I now know these units are very sensitive to a battery discharge, the lesson to be learnt is simple (apart from not owning one of these radios ,or maybe a Renault because of the electrical problems that have been reported ) Do not give up after the first attempt. Also no such thing as a problem only a solution. My wife does not like to hear that, but it was her that gave me the solution.

Alexandre Meerkat . Thank you for your reply. In defence of my action to purchase this car,The price was right, one owner from new, full service history,43000 miles.reg feb 2003. In the past year the car had only done 1500 miles and that was since its last service. The battery is an AA replacement and is dated Oct 2013.If I have bought a can of worms so be it,time will tell..

Take it back to the garage and get them to fix it. If they had to jump start the engine before you could drive it away, didn't that ring any alarm bells? You should have walked away then, there are plenty of cars on sale, you have bought yourself a whole lot of trouble. If you type Renault into the search box you will see what I mean about Renaults, their electrics are a nightmare to fix, bet you don't buy another Renault, simples!
