Dishlex DX302, water solinoid occasionally does not turn off!?

Eco cycle starts with pump out, then water solenoid opens, water flows, then the circulating pump starts and a short period later the solenoid closes. but sometimes it won't and water follows onto the floor. if you watch it you can stop it by turning off the tap under sink for 10seconds and back on, it then finish the cycle fine.
as an electrician I have approached Electrolux and they refuse to supply a wiring diagram.
anyone come across this problem

Classic symptom of a faulty inlet valve. Power supplied & solenoid pulls valve open. Power shuts off & spring inside solenoid should push valve closed. If it is sticking it won't shut off. Turning the tap off reduces the force needed to close the valve and when water turned back on valve will then stay closed. Fit a new inlet solenoid.

They will have a policy of only offering circuit diagrams to approved service agents - they would not want the risk of machine owners electrocuting themselves.

Have you considered that the water inlet solenoid valve might be sticky - and need replacing?

If in doubt you could put a meter on it or better still a neon to tell when it's being called - or not.

Good luck...
