How can I repair or splice an audio cassette tape that is cut?

A very important cassette tape of mine split about mid way through. Is it possible to splice it. I have both ends but I don't think scotch tape will hold. Any advice?

i agree with the two previous answers. scotch tape or magic tape will do. i used magic tape (invisible tape). magic tape is thinner than the other tape that makes sense but the regular transparent tape (scotch tape) is much stronger.

pull out tape, cut scotch tape to width 1/4 inch length apply even and neatly on underside of cassett tape, make sure both ends touch evenly and straight. handwind tape back in then ff/rwnd a couple times then play.clean tape heads&pinch rollers firts.

I don't know for sure, but I've used Scotch tape on VHS cassetes in the past and it worked fine.
