I have a double dimmer switch and the kitchen ones kept tripping out the circuit board every time I switched them off or on so I put a new dimmer switch on and wired it the same way then it stopped tripping out but still didn't work and now the lounge lights have stopped working aswell all the other lights work in the house work what is wrong?

what my friend e manno means is that the loop in in loop out is at your dimmer switch and you have mixed up the wires so call a spark out let him fix it for you

You would do best to call in an electrician.

The lights in the lounge have stopped working because your wiring efforts have disconnected them - with house lighting the power daisy-chains from room to room.

It might be the dimmer that's causing the trip but it could be just one of the individual spots.

You say the trip happens when you switch the lights on and it also happens when you switch the lights off - this seems strange - how do you get them to be on in the first place?
