Belle Minimix 150 stopped working?

Whilst using the 110v mixer the other day it toppled over and the power cable became wrapped round the drum and mixer stopped. Cable appears okay, what should I be looking at next- is the motor likely to be burnt out or is it the capacitor. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for your help a replacement cable ordered and delivered overnight by belle has done the trick

The cable became wrapped round the drum - the cable is very probably damaged - look first at the cable particularly the integrity of the connections at each end.

It is very probable that the cable got stretched during the accident and it may be that the wires inside the cable - the individual conductors - broke in two.

Get a meter - borrow one if necessary - check for 110V from the transformer then plug the cable into it - check for 110V at the mixer end

If smoke and a bad smell came from the motor than it may be burnt out - otherwise suspect the cable.

It's unlikely that a falling over accident will have damaged the motor start/run capacitor.

Good luck..., January 2015
