What is the best way of fixing a screw/raw plug which has become loose?

I have a curtain rail which is screwed to the wall in three places. The middle screw has worked loose from the wall. I was thinking of putting some glue in the hole and trying to replace the screw and raw plug. Is this the best trick?

get a tube of grip fill, it might be under a different name in the uk, its a glue that its used for sticking skirting boards to the wall, take out the raw plug and pump the gripfill into the hole, get a new raw plug and push it into the soft gripfill, let it get hard before you screw the fitting back in to the wall, its good stuff it goes rock hard.
