One for the experts?

May be a silly question .
Q: Would two different makers of Matt or Silk emulsion mixed together have an effect on one another ?
I want to use the ‘left overs that are in trade tubs of Matt and silk emulsion, so want to mix the two same colours together, Matt- Matt Silk - Silk not cross mixing. Would this be ok as they are from different manufacturers. Reason:-
as an amateur oils artist want to
(a) Store it in a 2.5lit re container (b) Use the paint for a seal coat and under painting that in places would purposely show through for effects.

Many thanks for your time and responses, even adverse ones Like ' Idiot of course its ok'.

Have you considered doing a test - a trial to see what happens?

Well to begin with you can't mix together the makers of paint - their terms and conditions and places of employment will not match.

Secondly you do not say the make of the paints involved

The phrase - Matt- Matt Silk - Silk not cross mixing - lacks clarity.

The size of the container is immaterial

You do not say what you intend to apply the paint to.

I suggest you go ahead with your plan and see what happens - and then you will be the world expert - after all - what harm can it do? What might it cost you?

You will never know until you try - go on - live a little.
