GBC Ultima 65 Doesn't heat up?

We've replaced the coils and the circuit breaker. Finally checked for power. We have current going into the board (AC-in) but nothing coming out (Heater). Do we need to replace the whole board? Thanks.

Hi I fix these machines as a indenpendent service provider in the western pa area. GBC machines tend to run well but parts costs are unreal:( The main board is about 900 bucks, and frequently you need a rewire kit with it. over the life of the ultima 65 there have been 7 or so revisions. requiring a kit.

for fiancial reasons no one replaces the main board...

those red heat rollers are 600 bucks each. the bearings are 40 bucks each 4 needed. the bearings bought from a bearing company are 10 bucks each.

that circuit breaker is about 40 bucks from GBC. or 7 bucks from digi key.

on your no heat machine check the overheat switches can open. they are on the end of the red rollers mounting bracket

sadly I think your machine isnt worth repairing, GBC doesnt provide schematics for the main board. unless you have a very knowledgable electronics tech theres no way to repair the board.

you can always use the machine as a parts donor. it has real value. 2 heat roller $1200 bucks,

if your buying a new machine check with USIlaminate.com

their ARL 2700 with fans current price is $1180.00 rollers, 80 bucks each, motor board 70 bucks, temperature control board 80 bucks. all prices approximate. film much easier to load. no annoying knobs on the end of the mandrels..

as always I provide free telephone tech support. 412 366 4906
