no disk message in a SC-AK25 panasonic stereo system?

I have a Home Sterio (SC-AK25 panasonic) that has a five disc CD player/changer. It's about 5 years old.
When I put in a cd it goes inside but message says "no disk"
Anyone know what's going on? Is it fixable?
