The old boiler has developed a slow drip of water. Is it safe to
continue to use it with a tray underneath to catch the drip for the time being ?
Is this an easy repair for an average DIYer ? or should I seek
professional assistance for repair/replacement ? Any guidance
regarding costs would also help.

Evey boiler water system should have the anti corode cloging liquid put in and drained every two years...for longivity reliablity....people get old..forget every day life cant find time or cant be bothered......nothing last forever...

old boiler about 18 years old if casting has crack than not advice to repair find out where is dripping from can be repair, ok to use but get repair
