My Panasonic DVD recorder Model No. DMR-E55 works fine except for the fan.

We took the fan out and had it tested and it worked fine. It just does not work when placed in the unit. In order to use it we have to put an outside fan on it. If we do not do this the 033D MR1521 mini voltage regulator gets too hot!

How to we rectify this?
