Simpson eziset 550 spin doesn't work. Every other cycle works. Drains etc but won't run the spin cycle

Is the lid locked? If the lid lock light is flashing then it has not locked. Does the brake release? Is there any noise at all when it should be spinning or just silence? Are you putting it on spin and expecting it to start spinning straight away? These machines take ages before the bowl starts to spin. So many questions need answers but so little info given.
