I know there's a straight answer to this somewhere as it's a service procedure which has undoubtably been documented over time - similar to a generel service on a car (oil, water, plugs, belts, brakes etc). It can't be that difficult or risky to carry out this task yourself, as long as you work carefully & methodically. My concern is that people are far more worried about safeguarding their monopoly regarding anything remotely connected to their profession, as against your well-being. When will the customer get an alternative to monopolised Corgi Registered money laundering?

100% agreed with Hi-Spec - Do not try and service an appliance without the tools or skills... Please ensure the pilot is extinguished when hoovering....
