Fix backlight on samsung tv?

my 40 inch Samsung tv comes on for a few seconds then the screen goes off the sound is still there can it be fixed with out having to send it to a shop

If you're an experienced TV engineer with service aids and test equipment then it can be fixed at home.

Otherwise you will need to take it to the TV doctor
