My dishwasher goes through cycles as normal but no heat to water.

Bad element, bad wiring, faulty temperature sensor or no power going to element (bad control board) Nobody can tell from here which one. If you have a test multimeter and the ability to fault find then you have to diagnose the fault and then replace the faulty part. If you haven't got either then no point posting your question on here. Just phone a service company to come & fix it.

Then it's probably suffering from a defective heating element.
