Can't find fuse?

I can't find the fuse on my HOMEPOINT shredder, Model No 852507.
The shredder has stopped working.

Kate,

if you're in the UK then there will be a fuse in the plug - but no matter - if the machine works in reverse then you can ignore the fuse as a cause.

Your problem is that the machine runs in reverse but not forward.

If the motor hums when you select forward then something is jamming the mechanism - but I suspect that the small micro-switch that detects paper entry and gets the machine to run is either stuck or not working.

I have no other answer for you - sorry.

Thank you very much for your response. But alas there is no fuse in the plug. I shred several sheets about a week ago and it worked fine then I tried to shred a sheet yesterday And it did not work. So overheating is not the issue. The reverse works.

There may well be a fuse in the wall plug

Also shredders have an overheat cut-out - if they get too warm (mine does) they go on strike until until the cut-out resets itself
