Dishwasher appears to go through cycle. Then flashes a E1 error and doe's not drain water away

I wish I could answer this question as there are no results listed on this platform that i can find. Our New World dishwasher shows an E1 error message as the water doesnt fully drain away?
We suck out the water and then it does work but I think it might be the pump?
Any ideas anyone??
