In contrast to what "Good Luck" says below, I rather think the set isn't even coming out of standby.

One assumes the remote is OK - good batteries?

One can check a remote is operating. Get your mobile phone (or a digital camera), turn on the camera and use that to look at the business end of the remote. Press remote buttons and you should see on your mobile (or camera viewfinder) the IR LED flickering in the remote.

Unfortunately the OP hasn't seen fit to divulge the model so I just did (WHAT HE COULD HAVE DONE, please note!!!!) and performed a Google search for "techwood tv blue light flashing". I found these, which is a good a place to start as any.

If the OP can be bothered to replicate the search (assuming it isn't too much typing), with his specific model number, he may get more incisive results.

I really don't know and can only guess what your problem might be...

On modern TV sets they can process and display signals from various sources - Digital TV from the roof aerial (DTV) from your Satellite dish or a Video recorder - HDMI etc.

On my remote control there's a Source (input) button to tell the TV how to behave - what source are you selecting?
