This answer below does not allow me to change the region setting. Is there a step something missing?

Following the steps below I can at least see the region the DVD player is set to:
1) Turn on without any DVDs inside.
2) push setup button.
3) go to General tab.
4) set the "Setup menu Mode" to Basic and leave the window that show "expert" and "basic" options open.
5) press Display to see the actual region number.

The following steps do NOT allow me to change the region setting…
6) press CONDITION MEMORY and then the Region number do you want to set.
7) press Display again to verify that the region has been set.

... this is why something is missing. Can anyone help with a solution? Thx
