Our power switch is turning on and making a noise providing power to the control panel with the lights coming on to select a wash cycle but when you push the button to select a wash cycle it doesn't turn on. The machine appears to have stopped mid cycle with the dishes washed but not fully rinsed off.

Probably the door closed microswitch not working. Have seen this several times. Remove, test and replace the microswitch if it is faulty.
