station loss/stereo loss on ford radio?

hi, every now and again my radio loses its signal, the sound fades and i can only hear the station if i turn the volume right up, any ideas
i own a Mondeo 53 plate old shape

i have same problem with clarion PU-2358A in my 51 plate pug 307. its nowt to do with aerial cos ive changed mine completely
