my dish washer starts the cycle then stops after a short time leaving a pool of water at the bottom of the dish washer it switches its self off ,is it an easy fix.

Anything is easy to fix once you know exactly what is wrong. Unfortunately, from your brief description it is impossible to tell what is the problem. Someone would have to be there to see what it does or doesn't do and make some tests. You really need to call out a repair company.
