Here is how I overcame the AEG C2 fault code situation.
i.e. During the wash cycle, the machine stops and displays "C2" on the panel.
It seems to be because the machine is unable to overcome a difficulty in draining water.
Here's what I did to quickly get it restarted:
- turn machine off.
- remove panel on front, bottom left of machine.
- if you can see water at the door level, then you should probably do an emergency drain as described in the manual BEFORE proceeding (or you'll have water pouring out the door and onto your floor)
- using a coin or screw, turn the small slotted knob on the left approx 90 degrees anti-clockwise to release the door catch
- open the door
- reach in and manually turn the drum around a bit. i.e. I believe that some sort of of small blockage, or the weight distribution vs water content, etc, has made it a little too difficult for the machine to drain on its own. By moving the drum around, it may help dislodge whatever is causing this transient problem.
- close the door
- turn dial to DRAIN and press Start.
- Hopefully, in a moment or two you'll hear it begin to drain!
- Of course, the wash cycle has been interrupted, so after draining completes (approx 1 minute), I then just turn it to GENTLE RINSE to get the remaining detergent out of the clothes. I then just accept that for this particular load, it'll have to do. (If you're really fastidious, then you could just start a whole new wash cycle).
I suggest that you check that the circulating pump isn't blocked, as described in the manual. In my case (twice) the pump wasn't blocked - turning the drum as I described above was all that was required to fix the problem and get the machine restarted.
Good luck!
