Does a car wing need sanding down to put a new color on, or just paint over?

Hi. Do i need to sand down the old paint on the car wing or can i just paint over it? (Because wing is different colour from the car) like what would be my best option? Thank you if you could help.

yes , degrease before flatting to remove any wax etc . wet flat , try a little washing up liquid in the water , use a fine paper ie 500 grit , don't leave any shiny parts , clean again before painting . Aerosols can be thin ,coat several times allow to dry in between.

If you want a good job done then get it to a paint shop, if you are determined to have a go yourself then yes it will need rubbed down with wet and dry, some of the aerosols you get nowadays are good quality, I know a body guy who uses them and says for small jobs the finish he gets is up there with a proper spray job. Good luck.
