What's is wrong with my Oreck Ultra Orbiter Floor Scrubber?

I turn the machine on and it comes on, but immediately seems to lock up and doesn't work. If I leave it on, it makes a buzzing noise and then starts to have a burning (electrical) smell.

I have a Oreck floor machine I think the wires crossed smoke came from the machine can it be fixed

This is pure conjecture...

The buzzing sound is the motor trying to work
The burning smell is the motor overheating.

The motor is very probably stalled and will burn out if left to buzz and smell.
