How do you clean the lense on cd player?

My CD player on the three disc add n player keeps going off and on

Don't know if you can still buy them but you get a CD cleaning disc that you put in and run.Ignorant people might tell you to use a cloth but you can't get a cloth in on some CD players,couldn't get one in my car CD player.
