stopped . Replaced fuse to no avail ! But !! - the switch
sounds different - slightly tinny & hollow . No previous
problems .

The same has just happened with ours, we followed the advice, changed the plug and it is now working again. Thank you so much for the tip, it has saved us a lot of money :)

And of course the switch will sound different - when the motor was running it would have drowned out the sound of the switch.

A very common fault is a break of a conductor inside the cable at the plug end - where it gets bent from repeated tugging.

Cut away the plug and a couple of inches of cable and fit a new plug - quick - cheap and easy.

I have fixed several cleaners this way.
